After a slow week with many productions on hiatus for at least some part of the past week, things are ramping up in Hollywood North. This week 7 TV movies, 1 TV pilot and 1 TV series starts filming in Vancouver and area.
Bates Motel Season 4 (TV Series)
First up, the long awaited return of Psycho-prequel Bates Motel to the lower mainland. We’ll have to wait until some time in 2016 (expected to be March) to see the likes of Norman and Norma Bates on our TV screens, but for now we can keep an eye out for them as they film season 4 of the popular series. Bates Motel frequently films on location at their motel/house set which is located at 1060 272 Street, Aldergrove (Langley). Other popular filming locations for Bates Motel include Steveston, Deep Cove and Horseshoe Bay. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Bates Motel series regular cast includes Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot (pictured above), Olivia Cooke and Nestor Carbonell. Earlier in the year, A&E announced that Bates Motel was renewed for 2 more seasons. Bates Motel Season 4 will be filming in Vancouver and area until April 4th and premieres at 9pm Monday, March 7th on A&E.
My So Called Wife (TV Pilot)
You may know Paul Adelstein as Jake Novak from hit TV series Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce, which just finished up filming season 2 in Vancouver last month. Paul has teamed up with Canadian writer/director Adam Brooks to create the dark comedy titled ‘My So Called Wife’ which was greenlit by Bravo for a pilot. The title of the show is quite fitting as the lead female character ‘Ava’ (played by Inbar Lavi from Gang Related) tricks men and women into falling in love with her so she can marry them only to leave them and take their money. While she’s with her current victim, Ezra (played by Rob Heaps), her past catches up with her as 3 ex’s team up for revenge. My So Called Wife will be filming in Vancouver and area until December 18th.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered 4 (TV Movie)
Hallmark’s Original ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ TV movie series is coming back to British Columbia again for its 4th instalment. The previous movie in the series, ‘The Impossible Dream’ filmed earlier this year in the Victoria area and was released in October on Hallmark’s Movies & Mysteries channel. Signed, Sealed, Delivered was originally a TV show that had success on the Hallmark channel before being repurposed as a TV movie series as Hallmark looked to expand the programming on their Movies & Mysteries channel. The overarching story is that of 4 postal workers who solve the mysteries of letters and packages that were never delivered with the intent to get them to their destination. Signed, Sealed, Delivered will be filming until December 18th.
