Three movies that are part of Hallmark’s 2016 Countdown to Christmas event started filming in Vancouver and British Columbia this week: Christmas List, A Rose For Christmas and the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie A Heavenly Christmas (aka Christmas Angel in Training). Here’s a roundup of the cast and premiere dates for each as well as an overview of all the Hallmark Christmas movies filmed here this year including Every Christmas Has a Story.
Christmas List (aka Christmas Bucket List)
After planning the perfect Christmas getaway with her boyfriend, Isobel creates a ‘Christmas Bucket List’ of holiday traditions and plans the perfect getaway at a cottage for her and her boyfriend. Despite all her efforts, Isobel finds herself alone. As she struggles to complete the items on her bucket list on her own, she stumbles into a new romance that could give her the Christmas she wanted after all.
Christmas List stars Alicia Witt (Nashville) and Gabriel Hogan (Heartland, Murder She Baked). Christmas List is the second Hallmark Christmas movie that Alicia and Gabriel have starred in together, after 2014’s Christmas at Cartright’s.

Christmas Bucket List will be filming until September 30th and premieres November 25th at 9pm as part of the Countdown to Christmas on Hallmark Channel in the US.
A Rose for Christmas (aka Rose Parade New Year)
Building floats for the Pasadena Rose Parade is something that has run in Andy’s family for generations. This year, there’s a setback when Andy’s father, who supervises the production, becomes ill and Andy is forced to take over. Little does she know, she’ll be working alongside Cliff who she doesn’t see eye to eye with. Andy is a talented artist, while Cliff is a business man. Despite their differences, the two work together to rally the volunteers to get the float ready in time for New Year’s.
Andy will be played by Rachel Boston (Stop the Wedding, Witches of the East End, 500 Days of Summer). She’ll be joined by Marc Bendavid (Summer in the City, Dark Matter).
Rachel and Marc posted for a photo while on set of A Rose for Christmas in Victoria:

A Heavenly Christmas (aka Christmas Angel in Training)
A Heavenly Christmas is a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie that will premiere during this year’s Countdown to Christmas event. The story follows Eve, a hard working woman who finds herself in training to become a Christmas Angel after she passes away suddenly. Even with help from her guardian angel, Eve struggles with her new role. She may be the worst angel ever, but she gets assigned the a difficult task of helping a musician named Max resolve some family issues. Their relationship ends up being mutually beneficial and Eve ends up learning a lot about the true meaning of Christmas, and love along the way.
Eve and Max are played by Kristin Davis (Sex In The City) and Eric McCormack (Travelers, Will & Grace) respectively. Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment, Gypsy In My Soul) plays Eve’s guardian angel. They’ll be joined by Vancouver’s own Kate Isaac. Kate has appeared in several Vancouver-based productions including Motive, Cedar Cove and the remake of the movie Beaches, which wraps up this week.
A Heavenly Christmas will be filming until October 6th and will premiere November 26th at 8pm as part of the Countdown to Christmas Hallmark Channel in the US.

The Mistletoe Promise
The Mistletoe Promise is based on the 2014 bestselling novel of the same name by Richard Paul Evans. The story is centred around Elise Donner, a single woman who’s not particularly fond of the holiday season. That is, until she meets Nicholas Derr, a charming man who offers to help her. Nicholas suggests the two pretend to be a couple during the weeks leading up to Christmas. Along the way, the two begin to discover something real being born out of their fake relationship.
Elise and Nicholas are played by Jaime King (Hart of Dixie) and Luke Macfarlane (Brothers and Sisters) respectively. They’re joined by BC’s own Lochlyn Munro (Lucifer, When Calls the Heart, Riverdale) as Dan Donner and Sarah Smyth (Cedar Cove) as Ashley Liss.
The Mistletoe Promise filmed from July 18th to August 8th. One of the locations they used in downtown Vancouver was Leone Clothing store on West Hastings Street. They also spent a lot of time filming in the Abbotsford area including Sevenoakes Mall and the Sandman Hotel. @chefbk11 shared a pic of them filming in foodcourt of Sevenoaks Mall
