Once Upon a Time season 7, being dubbed a “reset” by many, will see the show going in a different direction. With 6 seasons centred around a core group of characters, the show saw some drastic changes to its cast lineup during its filming hiatus. Several fan favourite cast members announced their departures from the show including Ginny Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Jared Gilmore, Emilie de Ravin, Rebecca Mader and Jennifer Morrison. However, the door may have been left open for some of them to return down the road. Jennifer has already mentioned that she will be appearing in one episode during Once Upon a Time season 7.

Thankfully, there will be some familiar faces when Once Upon a Time season 7 airs. Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle and Colin O’Donoghue will return to reprise their roles as Regina, Mr. Gold and Killian respectively. They’ll be joined by newcomers Andrew J. West (The Walking Dead) and Alison Fernandez (Jane the Virgin). Andrew will play a grown up version of Henry who, according to showrunner Adam Horowitz, is “more than 10 years older than we last saw him”. Alison will play his daughter, Lucy Mills. Both were introduced during last season’s finale.
According to Deadline.com, Dania Ramirez (Entourage, Devious Maids) and Gabrielle Anwar (Burn Notice) have been cast as regulars for Once Upon a Time season 7 while Mekia Cox (Chigaco Med), Rose Reynolds (The World’s End) and Adelaide Kane (Reign) will recur.

Once Upon a Time Season 7 Filming Locations
After spending a large portion of time filming in Steveston, the real life location of the show’s Storybrooke, it’s been circulated online that it won’t be a central location during the upcoming season. Despite that, it looks like it won’t be long before we see the small town return to our screens. Showrunner Adam Horowitz shared a sneak peek of the script for season 7 episode 1, titled Hyperion Heights, via his Instagram. As you can see from the picture, the setting for act 1 is in fact “Exterior Main Street Storybrooke”:
It should also be mentioned that a lot of the Storybrooke scenes are actually filmed on a soundstage at Bridge Studios in Burnaby, they’re not all filmed on location in Steveston.
Thanks to a heads up from @katmtan, we also know that one of the first filming locations this season will be near the exterior of Royal City Paws Pet Centre in New Westminster. The location has been dressed as “Radcliffe Pet Day Spa” for the show.
During the season 6 finale, we saw a new location for the show introduced, Seattle. If the show plans to spend more time there in the coming season, it should be quite easy to pull off. Vancouver has a long track record of being used as a stand-in for TV shows and movies set in Seattle. This includes the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, iZombie, Travelers, Death Note, and No Tomorrow to name a few.
