After the successful reboot aired last year, Fox ordered another 10 episodes of its popular sci-fi series The X-Files. The series, which stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, called Vancouver home for several years during its initial run and it returned back to the city in 2015 to film the reboot. The X-Files season 11 starts filming today, a few days ahead of the original August 8th start date that it was originally slated for.
No location for today has been spotted yet, but thanks to @melchirii, we know that filming will take place at 1745 West 8th Avenue in Vancouver on Tuesday, August 8th. 3rd Floor Productions (or 3FP) was the show’s working production company name during the reboot as well.

There’s not a lot of details “out there” for what to expect from the new season, but Deadline.com recently reported that Mitch Pileggi is set to return to reprise his role as Walter Skinner, an ally of Mulder and Scully.
Thank you as always to @lemon_buzz for posting several months ago that The X-Files season 11 would be filming in Vancouver.
